The Artist Brain
To be a good artist you have to think outside the box. New research shows that a talented artist is not just thinking outside the box. The creative mind of the artist actually damaged the box. The above picture shows the brain of a highly creative person has a higher density of D2 receptors in the thalamus (area of the brain that relays information). This same patter has been noted in a person with schizophrenia. But, unlike the person with schizophrenia, the artist can regulate impulses. This regulation of a schizophrenic brain creates a artist who can think outside the box, analyze information differently, and interpret events in new ways. To all of the artists of the world: yes your thoughts are crazy, but thank you for making beautiful work.
